The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

I thought it was just average.

C-Grade acting. Not because the kids were bad actors... but the queen herself just annoyed me. Lines weren't delivered all that well and things could have been done better. The animals though were good. They were really wacky and cool.

I didn't think the special effects were all that either. And the second son didn't get any special weapons... I thought he did in the books... though I can't really remember. But it was just average. Long... and average.

Howl's Moving Castle

Wow! I enjoyed this.

Sure, most of the stories are similar and the art all looks the same, but it was good! I loved it. The music, the story, the art. It was all so good! You definitely need to see it. It's a Hayao Miyazaki production (Studio Ghibli).

Basically, a hat maker is cursed when she defies the wicked witch. And due to her curse, she's been made old. So she goes on a journey to see if she can break the curse and along the way, she enters Howl's moving castle... that's where the fun begins. You really need to watch. I don't want to spoil this story.

Rebound

Hmm, it was entertaining... but only mildly...

Like all Martin Lawrence films... it's a little over the top. His actions, his antics... just being a stuck up person as usual with too much attitude!

But in the end, the kids were the ones that mattered and like i said, it was mildly entertaining. It is a kid's flick after all.

Revolver

It's a bit slow, but it's good!!

It's a very interesting movie about the life of mobsters and the rich and the powerful. How they all play games on each other and turn tricks to try and gain more power.

Everything is a matter of the mind and how it's perceived. One you play a good game, it's like a good game of chess. The dialogue was really good. It's a really arty movie though, with scenes that are abstract and there are even sections where there was a little bit of cell shading here and there.

It was surprising to see how well things were translated too because some scenes were in Chinese. Jason Statham was good and Ray Liotta was good too. Andre Benjamin was so cunning, but it was awesome! He was also sooo calm and collected!!

The Big White

This was really good!!!

Robin Williams is sooo good!! And not to mention Giovanni Ribisi! Hahahaha. William's character plays a guy who's desperate for money. He's broke. Now, his brother has been missing for 5yrs so he tries to cash in on his life insurance... only... he's 2 years too early to cash anything in.

So... when he finds a body in the dumpster... well... he starts to make it appear as if his brother (played by Woody Harrelson) came back... and then... in due time... kill him off. Problem is... it works... but... his brother comes back...

As a side point... Holly Hunter, who plays the wife... is faking an illness so she doesn't have to work... it's also what's driving them out of money... but I won't ruin the rest. Because when Ribisi starts an investigation on behalf of the insurance company, that's when it gets hilarious. You really need to see what happens! It's awesome!

Broken Arrow

It was alright. John Travolta vs Christian Slater...

Nuclear warheads... deserts... blowing up underground... I mean... it was okay... Terrorists up against 1 guy and a chick who can barely take care of herself.

I dunno... I've seen it all before... but it was alright. It wasn't bad or anything. The fight scenes were pretty good though. I dunno. Give it a go...

Coyote Ugly

Regardless of what people say and how they all think it's one big perve fest... but it does have a story behind it all!!

Piper Perabo plays a girl who leaves the small country side town to hit the big city to try and make it in the music business. She gets tricked and played and before you know it... she's like... played by the bar tender and made to believe that Adam Garcia's character is the manager and talent finder of a club...

Anyway, after being tricked, she rocks up to some diner after being robbed where she meets the coyotes. And when she over hears that there will be a job opening soon...

And the next morning... she meets Maria Bello... the owner of Coyote Ugly... home to the Coyotes played by Izabella Miko, Tyra Banks, and Bridget Moynahan.

But she's still on her quest to get discovered... as a song writer. It's an interesting adventure for her as she falls in love and experiences issues with her dad and when all is almost lost... she re-discovers herself. Very nice story... I really enjoyed it (Fine... It was a good perve too!! LOL!)

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Stunning. I loved this movie. So artistic and man, Zhang Ziyi is so hot!!

Chow Yun-Fat is so cool and the fight scenes with Michelle Yeoh were awesome. I thought this was well done. The choreography behind all the traditional Chinese fighting styles were really really good.

The whole story revolves around a sword that is stolen. I don't know what the English version of this movie was like because I watched it in Chinese and it was really good. I never actually watched it in English to see if scenes were cut or if things were mis-translated.

It's definitely worth watching though!

Dangerous Minds

I loved this movie. The way society treats the under privledged is so wrong... and then a teach who sets out to fix everything she possibly can.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays a really convincing and caring teacher. Kinda like the movie To Sir With Love (also a great one). But because of ignorance and idealistic ways, the children are misunderstood and even when they try to do the right thing, they simply get turned away.

I thought it was a powerful movie that shows both sides of society treats the poor. Makes you think a bit and really feel for the characters.

Dave

I really really liked this movie!

Kevin Kline is so cool and I have to say, seeing Sigourney Weaver in normal clothes not flighting aliens is alright! Basically, Kline plays a character who looks 100% like the president of the united states, only when the president is out screwing some chick, he has a stroke and well... instead of telling the world what was happening, they get Kline to pretend to be the president.

And well, in the process, he decides to change so much much more and impresses the world with his charity. A really nice feel good movie to watch. But it's not all good and games... when he goes against his advisors... they turn their backs on him and try to take him out. Very interesting how he deals with everything.

Dick Tracy

Ah, one of those classic types of stories.

Good vs Bad... Mafia and Cops... you know the deal :) One of those detective type movies. But it was entertaining. Madonna was alright. I didn't really think too much of her acting skills but she did do a lot of singing!!

And Warren Beatty was a good Dick Tracy, suit the profile perfectly. Funny how this is kinda like a family/kids movies but with Guns...

Dogma

I love this movie!! It's awesome!

It's a good Kevin Smith film! Fallen Angels exploiting loop holes and decendants of God trying to stop that from happening. So funny. Then there was the poo monster... and the angel with no genitles... Hahahahaha. It was an all star cast as well. Way too many to mention! Well, except for the few obvious like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

And who can forget Kevin Smith himself and Jason Mewes. They are of course Silent Bob and Jay (repectively). I love how Smith uses all his previous actors in his preceeding movies. So many familiar faces. It's awesome!!

It's warped but outstanding! Definitely a must see!!

Eraser

Okay, I enjoyed this movie! Not because I really like Vanessa L. Williams, but because I thought it was a good movie. The special effects were awesome and the weapons were awesome!

When I first watched this movie, I was like, man, I want a gun like that!! Then you see how they were writing discs onto those tiny little things and was like... I want one of them too!! Sits in the center of your CD Rom drive instead of the whole drive. How cool is that!!

Arnold Schwarzenegger was pretty cool too! The whole bodyguard thing was well done. The key word... the secret handshake... the fight with the crockodile. I enjoyed it. Think of it this way... there's always a dirty cop... a person who needs protecting and someone to bust em up. A standard action beat 'em up, but well done. Well, I thought so anyway :)

Erin Brockovich

I really enjoyed this movie. Goes to show how far a girl can get with her looks!

Julia Roberts played a very convincing Erin Brockovich. This was based off a real life story and man, it's unbelievable. The lengths this person went to to make sure things were done right. Even at the sacrifice of her love life.

Going head to head with a giant power company, she pulls off a victory and gets everyone compensated for mass amounts of money. How she did it, is absolutely amazing. You should watch this movie. This is what I call dedication.

Ever After

I thought this was pretty good. Sure it's a chick flick and it's pretty much another Cinderella story told in a different time, but it's pretty good.

Drew Barrymore was really good. From the stances she had with the swords to being all dressed up, she maintained the same character throughout. And I loved the punishment thrown upon the step mother and sisters. I thought that was so good.

But as with Cinderella, when the father died, the step mother and her daughters take over the house and leaves the biological daughter hung out to dry, even traded at one point. It's nicely done in that era. Give it a go.

First Knight

Hmm... I dunno, I'm impartial to this movie. I really really hate Julia Ormond... I don't think she's all that good an actress. So it annoyed me a little.

The fight scene and everything was really cool and that obstacle course that Richard Gere jumped through was really fancy but I dunno... It's just another medievil film. Sean Connery will always be a legend though. So that's always a bonus to the movie. I dunno, I thought it was just average.

It's just another portray of King Arthur and the knighs of the round table.

Hollow Man

I have to say, it would be sooo freaky!! Imagine if someone was walking around your house or standing right in front of you and you couldn't even see him! The crimes he could commit and the things he could do. If I saw a floating knife in the air or something I would freak out!!

But it did raise interesting things, when you are conscious and your eyes roll forward without your eye lids or anything protecting your eyes... lights would be so bright and blinding!

When it comes down to it... would you commit sins like there was no tomorrow if you were invisible for life? Don't forget, you would be naked and in general conditions... you could easily get sick with a cold or something. It's a scary thought. The movie itself was alright... Elisabeth Shue is awesome and I think that Kevin Bacon plays a good villan. Give it a go.

Keeping the Faith

A priest and a rabbi walk into a store... nah, just kidding! But they do both fall in love with the same girl. Problem is, they are all best friends. It's one of those stories where you go... I didn't know they could have a family! But it's not just about love... it's also about faith.

Ben Stiller and Edward Norton are awesome!! And how sexy does Jenna Elfman look?? Especially when she reveils where she puts her mobile phone!! LOL!!

But it is one of those heart warming movies and the scene where they are buying the Karaoke machine... how funny was that!! It definitely caught me off guard!! Hehehehe. It's worth watching!

Liar Liar

This is awesome!! One thing to remember at the end of this movie... make sure your kid never wishes you can never lie for an entire day!! It has deadly circumstances!! LOL!!!

Jim Carrey is like the master of comedy! The outtakes were sooo funny!! But man, how much did Cary Elwes tick me off in this movie... his version of "the claw"... yes... I know he was meant to be an idiot... but he just irritated me to no end!! Him and his accent!!!

I loved how he pretty much said everything people want to say but never will. "I've had better", "takes the focus off your face", "it's because you have large..." Hahahaha!!

"This pen... that I hold in my hand... is R...R...R... Royal Blue!!! Hahahahaha!!"

Definitely need to see this movie!!

Mallrats

Love it! I mean, sure, it's a movie about nothing really. They are just teens that hang out at a Mall and well, one guy is about to lose his Girlfriend on some talent show so he joins in to change the outcome. But Jay and Silent Bob are awesome (played by Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith)!! I love how they just do the funniest things in this movie. The spin off so many things and the Jedi mind trick. Hahahaha. Love it!!

I loved how they got Stan Lee into this movie and when Jason Lee is talking to him it was sooo good how they brought up all the marvel heros and issues and stuff that everyone wants to pretty much know about.

Didn't really like Ben Affleck's character in this movie, but man, was Claire Forlani hot or what???

As for that 3D eye trick poster thingy... I reckon I wouldn't be able to see it either! LOL!! It's good for laughs! I love it. It's so good and witty!!

Me, Myself & Irene

This movie is so damn funny!!! OMG I was hysterically laughing for so long!!!

Jim Carrey is so awesome!! I loved both his characters!!! And Renee Zellweger was like the perfect counterpart for the movie. And who can forget his sons!! HAHAHAHA!! I loved the whole helicopter scene with them speaking in German. It was sooo funny!!

Best is when Carrey is in his "other" character and does the strangest things... like sucking on some strangers breast for milk... taking a dump on his neighbour's lawn... the rubber... you know what... HAHAHA!! The coke machine!! So good!!

You need to watch this movie always until the end as well. IT's pretty good. Basically, it's about a guy, who gets into an ugly divorce, left with 3 kids to raise... but he's like Ned Flanders... always really nice and a push over until one day... he cracks... but cracks in a way that gives him a second personality and everything just gets sooo funny!!!

Meet the Parents

Ah, the dreaded moment!! Meeting the in laws!

And I have to say, everything a normal person would fear... well... it happened... and much worse!! Especially since it's a character played by Ben Stiller! It was sooo funny!! I loved the water polo scene! It was like in slow motion and everything!!

And who can forget the toilet! Hahaha. What you must do, is stay until after the credits and see the funny scenes after. So good!! I love how Robert De Niro plays a human polygraph. Hahahaha!! What a father to have. I loved it when the mother, played by Blythe Danner, realised what her daughter's name would be after marriage. Pam Martha Focker. Hahahahaha!! Damn Mother F*cker! LOL!!!

Teri Polo is a good sport in this movie. Accused that her husband to be is a worthless nurse and she goes and defends him... and then all the other incidents other than those. Awww. I loved how Owen Wilson played the ex-boyfriend. The perfect house... the perfect life... the art skills... makes you feel good huh? LOL! It's a hilarious movie! You definitely should watch this!!

Mercury Rising

Hmm, I dunno, I thought this was just okay. An autistic boy who works out an unbreakable code just by looking at it and calls through to an agency to report the answer. The problem is that, they never expected anyone to break the code. It was really a test out there... and when this young 9 yr old boy breaks it... all hell breaks loose.

His parents are murdered and well... FBI agent played by Bruce Willis is left to protect him. And he goes to all lengths to protect this one boy... interesting story... but a little weird at times. Give it a go... you might like it... you might not.

Mrs. Doubtfire

Loved it! Absolutely loved it!! It was so funny!! And to think Robin William's character knows people in the professional costume business where he can make himself artificial skin! I mean... there aren't that many people that can make that sort of stuff without it being really rubbery!

I loved when he threw a lemon at Pierce Brosnan. It was so funny! Or when he was going in and out of character at the restuarant. Sally Field was a little annoying though... I dunno... I never really liked her in this email.

But I love how he got busted by the kids. Pee'ing standing up. That was so funny!! Basically, William's character is going through a divorce and because he loves his kids so much, the only way for him to spend time with them, is to pretend to be a woman to be the nanny that looks after them. It's an old movie, but definitely worth watching!

Mulan

Okay... I didn't really like this movie except for the fact that the singing voice belongs to Lea Salonga!!

And if it wasn't for the way Eddie Murphy delivered his lines, I think I might have actually been a little bored... The art wasn't all that good. Yes, it did kinda tie in with the whole oriental theme and all, but I didn't like it...

Anyway, good for the kids to watch.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Hahahaha, from her singing in The Mask... to singing in this... who knows what Cameron Diaz's real singing voice is like! LOL!! But this was one funny movie.

Yes yes, a chick flick, but it was pretty good. It's funny, Julia Roberts seems to appear in a lot of movies about marriages and what not, but you know, may that's just her thing. But seriously, do you think Dermot Mulroney is worth fighting over? I wouldn't think so! Even Rupert Everett wasn't all that interested. LOL!!

But basically, Roberts rocks up to crash the wedding of a lifetime because she's secretly in love with the groom. Though, things don't really go her way. You gotta see what happens though. There was even a cat fight!! (well... almost!)

Pearl Harbour

What an epic movie. A portrayal of what happened decades ago. It was good... as a war film... but I can't say that the portrayal was all that accurate... I think some people would think of it as a little offensive to the Japanese... so I dunno...

Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett worked well together. And Kate Beckinsale was soooo gorgeous!! I think they played their parts well. Film wise, it was pretty good. Just don't believe everything you see!!

I didn't like the side story with Cuba Gooding Jr. though. I don't think it was needed. It just made the movie a lot longer than it should have been.

Pocahontas

Hmm... okay, so it was a good story to tell, however... I didn't really like the art. Everything was just so blocky. I think this is when the whole Disney thing began to fade.

The music was good and the voice actors were perfect, but it's a shame that the story was a little weak.

I guess I really disliked the art more than anything. The art of the humans anyway...

Porky's

Now this is a classic!! It's one of those movies where you shouldn't really talk about, but it's so funny!! It's also when I first noticed Kim Cattrall, and man, I have to admit, I think she's always been really horny!

Basically, a bunch of school kids go out and explore themselves... as most teenaged males would do... well... college boys more like it. That's right... they go and visit hookers or perve at the girls locker room (OMG... this scene was absolutely hilarious!!) and a whole range of other things.

I reckon you should watch it for the slap stick comedy... but it is a really old movie. You might find it a little lame.

Rain Man

This was a good movie. Tom Cruise was good, but Dustin Hoffman was absolutely awesome! Just the way he delivered his character was so good! I couldn't believe it.

You have to admit, this was a movie sponsored by K-Mart. LOL!! But imagine having the ability to count things as soon as you see them and memorising phone numbers instantly from a phone book. What an incredible memory.

Basically, Hoffman's character gets left a rather large inheritance, but Cruise who plays the brother... is left with diddly squat so he uses the gifted ability of his brother to go gambling. Watch and see what happens!

Robin Hood - Men in Tights

This movie was so funny! I don't normally like Cary Elwes, but he's a classic fool in this movie!! And you know, if I didn't watch comedy skits after, I would not have realised that was Dave Chappelle!!

This is of course a Mel Brooks production. It's so wacky! The credits killed me!! The burning of the village, the fingers in the beginning that came up through the prison cell, the mole moving around! It was all so funny!!

There were so many other cameo appearances in this movie that it was awesome!! And who can forget Amy Yasbeck and her chastity belt!! HAHAHA!!

IMDB Link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107977/
