Van Wilder - Party Liaison

Hilarious! Okay, it's a teen flick... that's for sure. But it's damn funny. There was one scene that almost made my puke... the scene with the dog... and the fingerbuns... and the warm cream... OMG... I swear... It put me off fingerbuns for LIFE!

Ryan Reynolds is so damn funny. I loved his character. Basically, he plays Van Wilder, a perminant student who's still in college because he refuses to finish. That and his father starts to cut his funding etc... typical situation... and he actually goes and tries to complete college... well... maybe to impress the girl of his dreams... played by Tara Reid...

One of the best characters is still by Kal Penn. His interview in the movie is so damn funny! You just have to see it. It is a very cliche teen flick and very predictable... some parts are super disgusting, but overall, quite entertaining.

The Rules of Attraction

What an absolutely f'd up movie!! OMG... the portrayal of American Uni life is so twisted! Sure, the parties were things you look at and go... "holy shit... why doesn't that happen here?" but man... all the little subtle signs made it so interesting.

Jessica Biel was actually pretty hot. No, you don't get to see anything... but there was one scene where everyone else around her was naked... heh... As for Kate Bosworth... she had a minor minor role. Not something to be proud of either!

One guy I really detest... Kip Pardue. I dunno... there's something about him that makes me just wanna punch his lights out! I loved the sign on his door though "Victor... call me, I'm positive" or something to that effect! Sucked in! And it took me a while, but the dude from American Pie was in this! Thomas Ian Nicholas! Amazing what some facial hair would do!

Now what surprised me... was seeing Ian Somerhalder. If I hadn't seen Lost before... I would have never known who this person was. He played a gay student who was in love with someone who was straight. Namely... James Van Der Beek. The drug dealer who finds himself in love with someone... only... there's a bizarre twist. So... watch and find out!

And last but not least... Shannyn Sossamon. Her character is so twisted. She's being f'd and spewed on at the same time. It was revolting. And the stuff she looks at to turn herself away from guys was disturbing!

This whole movie was one disturning train ride. It was filmed in a very interesting way... but man... I tell ya... you need a good stomach for this movie!

Forces of Nature

Heh. One of those movies where I still really liked Sandra Bullock and didn't mind Ben Affleck's acting. I liked this movie. But when you get THAT many signals from nature about things... and you still go ahead with what you set out to do... something bad is bound to happen!

Basically, after Ben's grandfather goes into hospital because of a heart attack at his buck's night... he has to make his own way down to his wedding... but things go wrong... in the most uncanny ways... and he finds himself in a situation that just blows everything out of proportion.

Funny thing is... at his wedding... there's a hurricane... seriously... if your wedding day falls on the same day as a hurricane attack... that tells you something!! That... or it's a test of faith... but what would you do huh? It's interesting to watch. Pretty funny. I like the support characters too. Steve Zahn is cool, and Maura Tierney is alright. Worth watching at least once ;)

Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl

Loved it! It was so good. Johnny Depp is a fantastic actor! I also quite liked Orlando Bloom in this movie as well. Funny how his roles always seem to deal with swords of some sort... or he's always the goodie good good hero.

This movie was witty, funny and adventurous! Absolutely fantastic! Keira Knightley was hot. I loved the special effects in this movie and the story was rather interesting too. I don't want to give away anything for this flick so you're just going to have to go and see it! It's a fun filled adventure. One for all ages! Definitely looking forward to the sequels!

Big Fish

One of those really enchanting stories. A creative mind given to a story writer who retells his past in exhubriant ways. I loved how his life was portrayed in such a fantasy/drama type way.

It's ultimately a sad movie, because of the way it ends and all, but how he brought and infused his life with fantasy brought joy to the people around him. Ewan McGregor was fantastic. Perfect guy for the part.

It's a little heavy with everything that goes on. You can't just watch and not think a little. But it was good. Basically its a father and son story... where the son is finally getting to know his father through his stories. Only thing is... his father is on his death bed.

Austin Powers 3 - Goldmember

Hahaha! Mike Myers is a classic fruitloop! Only he can pull something like this off. Though, it reminds me of those Eddie Murphy films where he pretty much plays all the characters!

It's so funny. I loved it. Seth Green was also pretty cool! I loved how he loses the plot and just goes all bananas. It's so cool. And who can forget Verne Troyer (better known as Mini-me). Hahaha. Such a crack up!

But the introduction of Beyonce Knowles was really cool. I loved her character. It added the extra sass and sexiness to the whole thing! Basically, Austin Power's father (played by Michael Caine... what a perfect choice) is kidnapped and he's out to rescue him.

And the introduction of Goldmember makes things nasty for Austin. It's pretty funny. Only character I really hate... because I can't stand her character's voice... is Mindy Sterling. Will she just shut up!?!!? GEEEEEZ!!!

Anyway, it's a good movie to watch! Heaps funny!!

Spirited Away

Absolutely fantastic!

I loved it. Known to the Japanese as Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, this title by Hayao Miyazaki is absolutely fantastic. It's a story about a family that just moved and they take an unexpected wrong turn and end up at an abandoned theme park.

Only problem is, as they eat the food there and as the sun sets, their bodies transform and their spirits get captured by the park. Chihiro, the little girl who's parents get taken, manages to escape with the help of a boy.

She's now on a journey to find her parents and escape the theme park. It's a fantastic tale, full of magic... suspense... and mystery. Definitely worth watching!! I watched it in both Japanese with Subtitles and English. It's so good. You need to watch this for sure!

You've Got Mail

Ah, I love this movie. Two of my favourite actors. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Love via the internet. Ahhh... every computer geek's dream. HAHAHA! But it was funny. How two perfect strangers, love each other online... but hate each other in person... why? Because they don't know who they are!

Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are in direct competition with each other in the book world and when their businesses collide... they seek each other for help... online. Yes... they don't know who each other is... until of course... one of them finds out... and uses it to their advantage. Oh! Steve Zahn is also in the movie! He's pretty cool!

It's a little deceptive... but it all works out for the best. A nice romantic comedy. Definitely worth watching. OH... why I watched this again... cause of Google Earth ;p I remembered how the start of this movie was done like the way Google Earth handle's New York ;) Check it out!

Election

Hmm... I dunno. It was alright. Just average. It wasn't the best thing I've seen and definitely wasn't the worst. But I didn't find it funny at all.

If there was humour in it... I didn't get it. It was a light drama... but it wasn't a "mercilous comedy" as mentioned on the DVD cover. I generally like Matthew Broderick, but he wasn't all that good in this movie, though, I did like the way he ended it. Hehehe. I'm not saying it was a good ending, just like what he did last.

Reese Witherspoon was so young in this movie. Man was she annoying! And I couldn't stand her voice at all. What was surprising was that, this was Chris Klein's debut movie. I couldn't believe he scored other movies after this.

The whole movie was a little weird. All about how an election took place and how the politics behind everything will cause people to do things they would normally not do. One of those live lessons you should learn on your own. It's an alright movie. Good as something to pass the time.

A Good Woman

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting anything... but I liked it. It's set in the 1930's and everything was just done so well. The outfits and the jewelry, hair and make up... It really brought it all to life. I guess when you're filming in a place like Italy... it makes it a little easier.

The story has a lot of unexpected occurances. It's not really a twist... but a series of misunderstandings. It's not what you would expect it to be. But I couldn't get over how nosy one of the character was... to the point where she has binoculars on her at all times!!!

Seeing Helen Hunt in this movie made me realise how old she's gotten. And man... when she was smiling, you saw lines around the side of lips that were really weird! Scarlett Johansson was fantastic. She must love doing these sorts of films. Films that are set in the past that is.

But I liked it. The ending was good. It's a feel good movie :)

Submerged

Absolutely horrible!! Just horrible!! Toy planes and helicopters for some of the scenes...

The action was... okay... but the acting was very weak. The special effects were lame... I didn't like this movie at all. The story was so bad as well! Things were just all over the place.

I expected as much though. This was a Steven Seagal movie. He's normally quite decent for his action scenes and so forth, but there wasn't anything really spectacular or stood out with this movie. I say... just don't waste your time with it!

XXX - State of the Union

Hmmm, well, for an action flick, it wasn't too bad.

It was a high-speed action flick. The story was okay... it wasn't fully explained but it was okay. I didn't think Ice Cube could pull off being an action hero, but he did well. Samuel L. Jackson is always cool. And Willem Dafoe just freaks me out normally. He's always the villian.

One thing I really liked... were the gadgets and the cars. Man that was a sexy car he was driving. It was a little far fetched when he got himself onto the tracks with it... but I still liked that car!! Samuel L. Jackson had some good one liners. It was funny at certain moments. I might actually go watch the first movie now ;p

Anyway, it's a no brainer. No real big twists or anything. Quite easy to follow and pretty fun to watch. I loved how they car jacked a tank. Hahaha!

Boat Trip

Absolutely Stupid!!!

I can't believe how silly this movie was. Cuba Gooding Jr has stooped to new lows with the movies he does. Horatio Sanz reminds me of a guy I know at work... Basically... these guys... after pissing off a travel agency (cameo appearance by Will Ferrell), get placed on a all gay cruise.

And, it doesn't occur to them that it's a gay cruise until someone slips the word to them... and the person who slips the word like a 007... is none other than Roger Moore. To think he went from Bond to Gay guy...

But I have to admit... it wasn't a total loss. Roselyn Sanchez was in this movie. Man she's hot! And of course, you have Vivica A Fox. Mmmm. Foxy! And who can forget Victoria Silvstedt's role! When they were all on the cruise (how'd they get there? watch and find out) running along the deck training... remaking a baywatch scene... priceless!

But all in all... this was a very very silly movie!

Crash

This was an awesome film! Simply outstanding!!

It's one of those movies where... it talks about the lives of so many people... yet in each bizarre way... they are all interconnected. Unlike Love Actually, this one is a real drama. It's not a comedy or a romantic love story, but a really good drama. It's about racism and karma I believe... It was so interesting to see how the lives of so many strangers... were all intertwined!

The actors they had in this film were awesome as well! Sandra Bullock didn't really have a big role in this movie. She didn't get much screen time at all. But it was all good. Don Cheadle was pretty cool. I liked the ending and how he handled the situation. Matt Dillon pissed me off big time though. His character was a complete sleeze bag. I mean, when you see him save that woman only for him to realise that she's the same woman he touched the day before... you would think... how awkward must that be!

And then there's Brendan Fraser... who's a white man, just trying to impress the black community to obtain their votes. The politics... it's always about politics! I did find it funny to see Tony Danza telling Terrance Dashon Howard that his speech for the TV series they were filming in the movie that he wasn't speaking "black" enough and needed to retake the shot. But I liked the wife... Thandie Newton was amazing. Her reactions and the way she handled herself. It was so realistic.

Surprisingly, Ludacris wasn't a bad actor. For a Rap artist, he was pretty good. I think it was just in his element ;) And Larenz Tate, well... he was good. I liked the country song he composed! LOL! You have to hear it to know what I mean ;)

The character I liked the most... was the locksmith played by Michael Pena. His story to his little girl and that one defying moment. It was so good. So real. And Jennifer Esposito... she's got the bod I tell ya! And Ryan Phillippe, a person who stood for morals and protected someone from potentially being killed... freaks out in one defying moment and uncalmly does an act of injustice.

I have to admit, this movie was about Karma above everything. Especially how it ended with Loretta Devine's character. You'll just sit there and say... a nice soft touch to end the movie.

Guess Who

This was alright. Bernie Mac was awesome. I think he fit the role perfectly.

Ashton Kutcher wasn't as funny as he normally was, but it was still pretty cool. And I like Zoe Saldana a lot. She's just cool. I think it's the witty-attitude look about her that's so appealing ;p

Basically, Zoe's character is in love with white boy Ashton... and well.. when she takes him home to meet the parents... she forgets to mention that he's... well... you would have guessed it... White.

So it gets all interracial and things just couldn't get any worse. It's pretty funny. I think I liked the race cart scene the most. Hahaha. You have to see it to know what I mean ;)

Sin City

Wow. This movie was pretty darn cool! I have to admit, it was a little weird and I think I might have to watch it again to catch everything because there's just so much going on. It did get a little confusing as to what was happening towards the end but I think I have the jist of everything.

There were so many good actors and actresses in this flick. So many names in the one movie. Just amazing. Jessica Alba Rocks!! And when you get to see her dance on the stage... wow. She's so damn gorgeous! And she had a few lines in the movie that just melts my heart. You kinda wished you were Bruce Willis at those moments!!

It was weird seeing Alexis Bledel as a prostitute though. Rosario Dawson was someone I never really noticed before, but she was pretty cool. Michael Clarke Smith had to be in this movie as a villan. He just had to. And he was ;) It suited him nicely.

I can't say Josh Hartnett had much of a role. But I need to work out the ending a bit... someone explain that one to me... And how confusing was it when you saw Jaime King's character... you'll know what I mean! But my favourite character... besides Nancy... was Miho, played by Devon Aoki. Lethal yet really cool. Her character rocks. I love the samurai stuff!

And for once, I think Clive Owens did a really good job in this movie. It didn't look forced or anything. It was quite good. Brittany Murphy was her usual self. But seeing Elijah Wood like that... man... that was really weird!!!

Anyway, you have to watch this movie!! Oh... Frank Miller also makes an appearance!! He's the priest! Keep an eye out for him ;)

The Big Bounce

Okay... what's there to say... this movie ended way too soon.

There were so many twists at the end that certain things were unexplained and unresolved. There should have at least been a good 30mins at the end to explain everything... it was all over the place.

I have to admit, the lead up towards the end was pretty good. It started off well and left you curious as to who's playing who... but when you came to see it at the end... it was like... WTF is going on?

But this movie did have a really good cast! Owen Wilson was pretty funny and pretty smooth. I liked how he got into that house and when the caterer came, he was just so fluid with everything. Charlie Sheen played a duffus. Hahaha. I think it suits him well and then there's Morgan Freeman. He was pretty cool. I still picture him as a narrator though. And who could forget new comer Sara Foster. Hubba hubba hubba.

Anyway, this movie is a lot to do about scaming people... and .... no and. Just watch and see. If you work out what's going on at the end... let me know...

New Police Story

Well, I didn't like the fact that this movie didn't continue on from the others in the same series. I think Jackie Chan just decided to start fresh and not include the other actors that he would normally use for the Police Story series.

I thought the movie was alright. It wasn't all that bad. The fact that all those policemen got taken down was a little weird though. I mean, it was like... none of them didn't really have much skill as being a cop. They were all so stupid... and so cockeyed!

I did like the fighting scenes though, but even some parts of the movie lacked Jackie Chan's style and flair. I dunno... It was just alright. I like the ending. That was kinda cleaver. Nicholas Tse wasn't all that bad. I pictured him being much worse!

But the rest of the movie... it was just... alright.

Racing Stripes

Well... I dunno... I'm over animal movies.

I like Hayden Panettiere. She's cool. But the whole movie was just a little... lame. It was like Babe but only with a Zebra. And instead of a hearding competition, it was a race.

I mean, it would be quite appealing to kids and if they understood all the hidden messages, it might be good for them. But I dunno, some parts were funny, some parts I just couldn't tune myself into watching.

Though, some of the voices were pretty cool. I liked how Wendie Malick was in this movie and how David Spade was a voice of one of the flies. Both from one of my favourite TV shows ;)

Anyway, it's a movie for the kids. I don't think adults will get much of a kick out of it.

Fantastic Four

Absolutely Fantastic!

I loved every minute of it. It was witty, fun, entertaining and full of action! It was awesome!

It was cool to see how they all evolved. Ioan Gruffudd looked the part! I loved it when he wrapped himself around Ben. It was awesome.

And then there's the fabulous Jessica Alba! My goodness! When you first see her in her space suit... dang! You can't stop drooling!! It was a sight for sore eyes!! :) And there's a scene where you soooooo don't want to get invisible! I mean... DAMN! If only she wasn't invisible!!!

But the character that made the movie the most entertaining, was The Human Torch... played by Chris Evans. He's so funny. Like when he first discovered his powers and such, he was on fire! The one liners and the jokes and his actions. So cool!!

And not to forget... there's Michael Chiklis who plays The Thing. I liked how he uses the line from the toy. That was funny.

I have to admit, the cast for The Fantastic Four was Fantastic to say the least. Each actor depicted the character as if they were them! It was awesome! Much better than the casting call for X-Men where Storm... well... I don't think that was the right choice!

Oh and lets not forget... Julian McMahon who plays Dr Doom! A Doctor... hahahaha. Classic progression from Nip/Tuck ;) When he was talking about his scar... I couldn't help myself but think "you can fix this yourself!" ;p

Anyway, there was one scene I didn't like... and that was the whole scene were Ben is transformed back to a human... and he gets hit... does a 720 in the air... lands on a table... and after a matter of moments... wakes up unscathed. Seriously... it's just weird! And the fact that he re-used the machine even though Dr Doom pretty much blew the generator from what it looked like... I think...

But other than that... Fantastic!! It was a small scene anyway ;)

Definitely worth the watch!!

Spiderman

Ah yes. In preparation for another Marvel Flick, I decided to watch this again cause it was so good!

Spiderman rocks! I loved it. Watching Tobey Maguire trying to work out how to shoot his web out was so funny! Shazam! Hahahaha!! I loved when he was just getting used to his new found powers at school and in his bedroom. That was pretty funny. Like when he got into that fight and he could see what was going to happen just moments before it did... awesome!

I can't say I like Kirsten Dunst all that much. She does get a little annoying. But this movie was fun. The action scenes were awesome and if you are a fan of the comics, I'm sure you'll love this movie too!! Definitely worth seeing!!

Oh, Willem Dafoe is pretty cool as well! He suited the part of the Green Goblin to a Tee.

The Mothman Prophecies

Hmm... I dunno about this one. It was okay... well... it was interesting to say the least. But it's a really slow movie.

It's based on myth though. They could have done a bit more with it but what can I say... it wasn't one of those outstanding movies. More of a reporter investigating sightings, and in his own dellusion, starts getting psychic visions of things appearing.

It was bizarre when Richard Gere's character went from one town to another in a matter of hours and had no idea how he got there. Maybe I missed something... but I don't really want to watch this flick again...

Anyway... if you're into myths and legends... give it a go. If not... it's a miss.

Unleashed (aka Danny the Dog)

Interesting movie. When he was taken, he was a little kid... I guess that traumatic experience did allow for him to be moulded that way... hmmm

Jet Li was pretty good. He didn't really use all that much kung-fu, rather, he looked like he was street fighting with a lot of repeated punches and blows to the same part of the body. Morgan Freeman was pretty good. I think I just like him as an actor. He's really cool.

And of course, there's Bob Hoskins... what I didn't like about him the most was that he pretty much refused to die. That was one of the let downs in this movie. People get shot at... get hit by a truck... have a car completely flip over... and yet... still be alive after. Unbelievable I tell ya!

As an action film, it was alright... the story was interesting... but there were a lot of weird moments. I say, give it a go... and let me know what you think!

Cheaters

Hahaha. This one's bad for kids. It'll teach you how to weasel your way out of anything... not that it'll work... but it'll make the moment a hell of a lot funnier... Oh... that and... this kinda stuff only happens in America...

Basically... a duo from childhood cheat their way all the way through high school. Then something goes wrong and they find themselves in a whole new ball game. So they try to take cheating to a whole new level.

And even then... things just don't work out. I guess that's where the saying comes from... cheaters never prosper...

I like the blurb on the poster though... "Rule 4 - The permanent record is a MYTH perpetrated to keep the student in a constant state of fear." Classic!

King's Ransom

Dud! The story was so weak!! It was funny, I grant it that, but the story was so bad that it's not something I would ever watch twice.

Anthony Anderson is usually funny... but in this movie... I thought he was just rather annoying. I think he's the type of actor that you laugh at and not with... sorry to say of course... but I think he's better as a support character. Jay Mohr is cool. He's pretty funny. I liked how disturbed his character was.

And then there's Kellita Smith. I think she's a relatively new comer and looks a little like Angela Bassett but she ain't bad!

All in all... it is a black movie. Story was really weak... was about a divorce gone bad and he kidnaps himself to try and secure his own money... only... there's more than one kidnapper. Silly.

Ice Princess

Okay, this was one of those feel good Disney movies. I liked it... even thought it's one for the kids! Hahaha!

I think I quite like the movie though. It was fun. I have to say... Joan Cusack looked sooo old!! And Kim Cattrall... looked like she hasn't aged much at all!

And man, Hayden Panettiere has grown up heaps! I still remember her from Remember the Titans. Man she was young back then! But who I liked the most... and probably why I watched the film... was cause of Michelle Trachtenberg! She's grown on me over the years. The movie was pretty much based on her character growing up and realising what she wants.

She starts off as a complete geek with the potential of getting a scholarship into a prestige school... but when she takes an assignment onboard, it gets a little more personal and starts to take over her life. That's when things get complicated. But it's good because it shows how people make their choices and what people are willing to do. It also showed the ugliness in competitive sport and how people can put on one face for the media, and another for the people around them.

I liked it. And it was cool seeing people like Michelle Kwan playing herself as a commentator.

War of the Worlds

Okay... honest opinion here... the ending SUCKED!

The start of the movie and how everything worked itself out was really cool. the comedic scenes and everything was awesome. Tom Cruise's character was really weird. But he was cool. I really liked Dakota Fanning though.

Basically, machines are buried under the earth and during some strange electrical storm... Aliens follow the lightening into the ground and activate the machines to exterminate the human race.

The special effects and stuff and seeing how Tom Cruise escapes was amazing. I don't understand a few things at the end, but I have to admit... the ending was just horrible!! Maybe there was some footage taken out... but it wasn't all that good at all!

To be honest, I was after a special effects movie, or expecting one... what I got... was a family drama that just shouldn't have been there!!!

Old School

Only in America! I tell ya... this sort of stuff only happens in America!!

This was pretty funny! Luke Wilson plays the "godfather" as he starts a fraternity for the old boys! The initiation for the new guys was heaps funny!!

Will Ferrell is pretty cool! And Vince Vaughn was alright. I like how Jeremy Piven played the bad dude. He so suited the role (well, in this movie anyway). He just played the part really well.

But basically, these guys... form a fraternity and it gets vito'd. So they are on a mission to keep it! It's heaps funny to see what they get up to and this movie also has a lot of cameo appearances as well! Not to mention... Elisha Cuthbert is in this!! :)

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Hahaha!! This was so damn funny!! I loved it.

I love the fact that Kevin Smith reuses all the actors from his previous movies! This movie was so fun. And there were just so many cameo appearances by so many people!

Anyone you've seen from any of his previous movies... you can expect to maybe see them in this movie!! Jason Mewes is heaps good. I don't think you can ever find someone like him. The guys are just fantastic together.

Basically, Jay and Silent Bob receive a lot of criticism about their comics and upcoming movie on some forum and because of that, they decide to go shut down the movie. It's heaps funny what they get up to! It's an all star cast! Too many to mention! You just have to watch it!!

The Tuxedo

I liked this movie. Sure it was slightly cheesy in some area. But it was funny. Jackie Chan is just awesome. Even though he plays a fool as someone who doesn't know kungfu or anything, and is a simple cab driver, he pulls it off really well.

The special effects were really cool. And who could forget Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Babe! She's got some good moves herself!

But all in all, the story wasn't all that good. But the comedy, kung-fu, special effects mix makes the movie very very enjoyable!

Mystery Men

Hehehe. This was a no brainer. But I tell ya, It's pretty good!

I didn't realise how big a cast this movie had until after. Hank Azaria, Claire Forlani, Greg Kinnear, Kel Mitchell, Paul Reubens, Geoffrey Rush, William H. Macy, Janeane Garofalo and Ben Stiller.

It was heaps funny! I mean, some of the super powers were absolutely ridiculous! But I tell, ya, no one would have been able to pull it off if it weren't for Ben Stiller. It was awesome to watch.

Basically the best super hero in the world gets captured and then the city is at turmoil and everyone is just breaking the law... so the mystery men were formed to combat the bad guys and rescue him... only problem is that, they screw up and something bad happens!

Definitely worth watching as a brain dead movie. Enjoy!
