But I'm a Cheerleader

Okay, so I watch super weird movies, and this is no exception!

This movie was totally bizarre. They put a perfectly fine girl into a school for gay people who need to be "corrected" and turns out to be lesbian. I reckon she was doing fine without intervention from her friends. And those twisted "steps" for a cure... I don't think they make any sense at all.

How can you "graduate" from such a school. It's a little ludicrous. It had a lot of funny actors in it though. If you want to just watch something that makes you go "What the", then I say, give it ago, otherwise, unless you're super bored, don't bother.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

Hmmm... chick flick... teen flick... I think I watched this cause there was this whole Lindsay Lohan hype.

It wasn't bad... for a teen flick... but yes... total typical teen drama...

Can't say much more about the movie... maybe kids would learn something from it... but can't think of anything else to say...

A Cinderella Story

Ah yes, one for the kids/chicks I tell ya. I watched it cause I like Hilary Duff.

The movie itself was alright. It wasn't that bad. Jennifer Coolidge was funny. She plays all the dumb roles and stuff. It was funny to see her in this movie. She played the perfect role. I think she's only suited to do these types of roles.

Ultimately, this is a chick flick. With one of those fairtale endings... even a cinderella outfit!

Chasing Liberty

I like Mandy Moore. What I wanna know is if she used a body double, or was she really naked?

Some of the acting in the movie looked very C grade and was a little dumb. But you do kinda feel for her. Being the president's daughter would really suck. You get so restricted in terms of being able to do stuff. I think that goes for all rich/famous people.

In terms of what you see through the scenery, the movie was nice to watch. Storyline wasn't all that good and acting wasn't all that good, but nonetheless, it was an alright movie.

National Treasure

I can't help but to have had high expectations of this movie. Sure, I kinda knew it was another Indiana Jones type thing, but from the makers of Pirates of the Carribean, I was expecting something extravagant.

The movie itself was good. There were quirky moments like in Pirates, and there were a lot of good one-liners that kept the movie going. I have to say, I quite liked Diana Kruger (who plays Abigail Chase). I didn't think much of her in Troy, but man, I liked her in this flick.

The story itself was quite interesting. There were a lot of unanswered questions though. It starts off with Ben Gates (played by Nicolas Cage) as a kid, then suddenly, he's already an explorer. No mention as to how he got all that money to use or anything of the sort. His father had claimed to have wasted 20 yrs of his life searching for the treasure, where do you get all that money to do nothing by treasure hunt?

The movie mentions a lot about the Masons and its' secret societies. I want to know if those societies really existed or if the entire story was fabricated. I'm sure there would be some myth or story that falls behind the movie, or some truth to history mentioned. I'm quite intrigued by it. Might need to do some research later. (I'll post it in a comment if I find anything). But throughout the movie, I was thinking to myself "Simpsons! Stonecutters!!"

I didn't like how they made Ben Gates so damn smart. Like how quickly he solved the riddle of the pipe... or how he knew what to do with the pipe to begin with. It just looked too choreographed. Too scripted. I didn't believe it. The antagonist, Ian Howe played by Sean Bean, annoyed me. I think he was also from Troy... He looked too pansy.

I have to admit, with the trailers and all, I was expecting hi-tech gadgets, floating pyramids, weapons on a treasure hunt, but nope... just a lot of well planned clues and smart light tricks. I still say it's worth the watch, but maybe wait till it's on DVD.

The Terminal

Hmm, despite what other people have said, I liked this movie. I found it rather charming. I have to admit, half the time, I couldn't understand a single word that Tom Hanks was uttering. Sure, he was meant to put on a heavy accent, but it wasn't just heavy, it was uber deep as well, which made it very hard to pick up his English.

There were a few things I didn't agree with the movie. I don't see how he was able to work with the construction workers for so long with out them having the faintest idea as to what he was doing. I also found it amazing that he happened to be such a good carpenter. They pretty much gave him skill after skill in this movie...

The Indian janator was hillarious! I have to admit, for a sentimental movie, this sure did contain quite a few funny scenes. There were quite a few holes here and there. Some things unexplained, and some things were just unbelievable. Especially the way he learnt English.

All in all, it was nice to watch. I didn't really like the way it ended because of how the movie was built up, but I guess it was a satisfactory ending.

The Butterfly Effect

Wow. This was a fantastic movie!! I didn't think Ashton Kutcher was capable of doing a serious movie like this, but man, that was impressive!

I loved the story behind the movie. Everything in the end fell into place and it was just freaky. This was just so surprisingly good. It makes you think so much of the possibilities of what could have happened and man, I think you should watch this flick twice to pick small details you may have missed the first time around.

It's definitely worth the watch!

The Bourne Supremacy

Hmm... I don't know if I can say I liked this better than the first.

I wished that Julia Stiles had a better role. Her character in the first movie made her seem partially robotic. Almost as if she was also trained to kill. Except, in this film, they turned her into a scaredy cat.

The fight scene was also very bad. It was shaky and so up close that you couldn't tell what was going on. It was almost as if they were just rolling around and not really fighting.

Matt Damon was pretty good still (besides the fighting that is) and the Taxi scene was crazy! That's the only car I've seen that can take so much damage and can still go at full speed! Crazy Euro cars!

Against The Ropes

Baaaaxing? Man, I don't like how Meg Ryan says the word Boxing or Socks. But I like Meg Ryan nonetheless.

This movie is one of those feel good movies. Winning against all odds and showing what you can really do. I liked it. It shows how cutthroat the whole boxing industry was. It was also a flick to show that a Woman can do the job. It was a good film. Just wished there were more boxing scenes ;)

Meg Ryan did sport some really "wow" factor outfits.

Shanghai Knights

Ah yes, Jackie Chan never ceases to amaze me with what he can do with props. I still don't get where he gets all his energy from. He's getting quite old, yet, he continues to do all his own stunts and squeeze himself through the tinest of holes.

I like how he hires a lot of Chinese actors and actresses to fill the roles. Like Fann Wong who played his sister for this movie. Sure she doesn't look anything like him, but she sure packs a punch.

And then there's Owen Wilson. Ah who can forget his nose... I still don't think I can look at it without going "What the..."

The movie itself was alright. Some parts were stupid. I loved the play on names and how they used historical names for some of their characters. I loved how they recreated old England. It was a typical Jackie movie, the sequel to Shanghai Noon, fun and entertaining. The bloopers at the end are always good for a laugh!

The New Guy

This was quite funny. Sure it's slapstick and typical teen movie funny, but it's good as a no brainer. It does come with a familiar message at the end and that's "to be yourself."

I watched the movie knowing Eliza Dushku was in it. She's so hot ;) There's this one scene where she's trying on 2 piece swimsuits/bikinis... hubba hubba hubba!!!

What was even more surprising was that Jai Rodriguez from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was in there! Who would have thought he starred in a movie before the TV series started.

Anyway, funny, wacky, love the ending with the cameo appearance of... *BEEEP* (Watch and Find out!)

Along Came Polly

You know, Ben Stiller always lands himself similar type movies... where he's the idiot, or the person seeking love etc. It's so... typical Ben Stiller.

That goes the same for this movie. Just very typical Ben Stiller. It was funny I give it that, but if you watched a whole bunch of Ben Stiller movies all at once, you'd think that it was just the one movie (well, all the romantic comedies anyway...)

I don't really know what more I can say about it. Watch it and decide for yourself. I mean, it was funny. Oh, don't learn to dance like him!! (And most people do have Caller ID!!) ;p

Warriors of Heaven and Earth

I have to say, I liked Hero and House of Flying Daggers better. Warriors of Heaven and Earth was good in the sense where it showed true leadership and rightful conduct of chivelry. However, the relic and the special effects made the movie very cheesy. They were very out of place!

The scenery and landscape was awesome. The fight scenes weren't nearly as nicely choreographed as other traditional Chinese war movies, but it wasn't bad either. The weapons and armor did look authentic, but some of the hair styles were quite weird. I wouldn't have expected someone of that time to have braided hair. Ponytails, hair tied upwards in knots, or simply ferral was what I would have expected.

It wasn't an arty film. I think it had some historical value to it. I would have to do some research on old Chinese history to find out of some of the events really occured. It's a little like Gladiator in a sense, but less elaborate.

For those who can actually read Chinese, you would think the title in English is a little wrong. The correct translation should be Heros of Heaven and Earth. But I think Warriors probably had a better ring to it. (You can actually compare the Chinese characters on this poster with the one on Hero and see for yourself ;p)

Note: This film is filmed in Mandarin with minor scenes in Japanese.

House of Flying Daggers

Right now, I have mixed opinions about this movie. This movie started out making you think "er... this is just silly... she can't do that..." And then you progress through the movie and you end up going "Oh, now that makes sense!" but by the end of the movie you'll go "WTF! Was that the end?!"

So right now, I can't say I liked the movie, or if I hated it. I think I need to let it sink in first. The scenery and the colours and the intricate layout of scenes were magnificent. The scene in the first part of the movie where they were playing the "Echo Game" was amazing. The design on the props and the surroundings had intricate patterns and you lose yourself in the scene. Sometimes you even forget to read the subtitles cause the scenes are so moving.

Like Hero, the House of Flying Daggers also uses colour to portray moods a various other things. It also stars Zhang Zi Yi!! I've never really watched a film with Takeshi Kaneshiro in it before, so it was interesting watching a Japanese person play the role of a Chinese soldier speaking Mandarin.

The ending just got gorey and grotesque (well, not THAT grotesque, but for the way the movie started... you did not need to see blood spilling the way it did). Not to mention that the storyline didn't eventuate to anything. The movie started with an objective, and in the end, it turned out to be another Love Triangle type movie where the plot is forgotten.

I would say the movie is worth watching for some of the fight scenes, the special effects and the breathtaking scenery, but beyond that, the ending will just make you hate the movie cause it really didn't end. The story was left hanging and there wasn't any closure to some of the characters.

Hero

Hero is a really arty film where you have to appreciate it for the way it's filmed rather than the story itself. Don't get me wrong, the story was okay, but you have to just appreciate the real beauty of the landscape and the portrayal the director wanted you to see.

The movie was filmed in such a way that they used colours to represent each person's story. It was magnificent. Each colour brought a different tone to the movie and revealed another part of the mystery. Mind you, it is one of those movies where it's basically one person recalling an adventure. (In this case, more than one person, but each telling the same story in their own way.)

Of course, being a Jet Li film, the martial arts and sword play was excellent. Zhang Zi Yi didn't really have that large a part in this film, but it's good to see her doing more martial arts films. Her look is so suited for it.

I'm not sure if the Americanfied version of this film is any different from the original. I watched the original Chinese version of course so it'll be interesting to see what they would change for the American public.

Bridge Jones' Diary 2 - The Edge of Reason

What can I say... I loved it! The movie was excellent. It was entertaining and witty. I have to say, Renee Zellweger completely carried that movie with her superb acting skills. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth were also good, but were more like side acts of the movie.

Hugh Grant looked terrible. You can see how old he looks through-out the movie. His acting was so so, and his character just annoyed me. Colin Firth looks as if he's never aged. He looks as he always does... I would really like to see how he is in real life. The characters he plays in most of his films are very very similar.

The music in the movie was excellent. It suited the scenes and the location very well. The entire Thailand scene was hillarious! Some parts of the movie were very predictable. Even so, the way it was portrayed made it highly entertaining.

I haven't read the book, so I don't know how closely this film follows it. I do recommend that you re-watch the first movie so you know what happened in the past. It's surprising to see Renee Zellweger as she was. Putting on that much weight mustn't have been easy. (Losing it after must have been a nightmare!)

School of Rock

This is one of those movies where if you hate Jack Black, then you'll hate the movie. You really need to like Jack Black and his antics otherwise you'll find the movie irritating and boring. I liked it, not only because the movie was musically inclined, but because I found it funny.

I loved the way the chinese kid was speaking. It was so typical chinese, and being asian myself, I could relate to half the stuff he was saying.

I felt sorry for the kid base player. At the end of the film, during the rolling credits, everyone was announced by Jack and then had a chance of a solo performance, but she didn't even get a mention. Fair enough that it's hard to play a solo as a base player, but it was rather slack not to let her try. She didn't even get her name mentioned by Jack!! Poor girl, she must have felt so rejected.

The school itself was a bit weird... as if you can simply sound proof a room with door stoppers taped to the doors... the room had windows... I doubt they were like tripple layered, sound proof glass!!! And as if the kids could set up security cameras... that was a joke... but all in all, it was enjoyable... Didn't quite like Joan Cusack's performance, but the kids were quite good. I can see so many potential stars/musicians emerging from that bunch.

Ella Enchanted

Ella Enchanted was actually quite funny. Despite the fact that she should have just got someone to tell her to listen to no one but herself, it was interesting to see how she had to be so obedient...

Anne Hathaway is sooo damn adorable. She's got that look about her that makes you just want to hug her or something. I dunno... but she can be quite sexy as well as we can see by her performance as she did her song and dance. The special effects for certain parts of the movie was quite good, but there were scenes where you'd just think.. hmmm... that's definitely a blue screen... almost as if they didn't touch it up before they released the movie.

The music suited the film nicely. It was interesting seeing Vivica A Fox in a different role than she's normally in. Cary Elwes is really starting to annoy me... but it's all good. If you watch the movie without looking at all the holes in the plot, you'll find it very entertaining.

Yes yes, it is a kiddy type movie, one of those where you'd take your kids to watch, but you know, it does address a few things that adults would think about, some things would be good as a lesson for kids too!

The Cooler

Wow. I have to say, I rather enjoyed The Cooler.

First... let's define what a Cooler is. In this movie, a Cooler is someone who goes out to turn down the heat. What heat? Well, in this situation it's when you're "on fire" at the casino tables, or when you're "hot" at the pokies.

Bernie, played by William H Macy, was employed to be a cooler. Someone who walks around the casino tables and essentially, stops douses the flames of anyone on a roll. That's as much as I'll say without spoiling the movie ;)

The movie itself was clever. The way it was filmed was excellent, with subtle things here and there reflecting how things were changing as Bernie changes. I also liked how things like someone screaming with delight then suddenly screaming profanities came in as Bernie walks past. The transition was seemless.

The story was good. and I think the casting was excellent. Well... with the exception of Joey Fatone (from Nsync) who plays a singer at the lounge. I guess they could have chosen someone else, but it did bring in an element that I guess the director would have wanted you to see.

I guess the movie could have done without a few things... like in the beginning with Shelly, played by Alec Baldwin, getting a manicure... but it showed how wacky the characters were and how they wanted to break free from their usual routine. There's one bedroom scene that completely cracked me up. Oh... Maria Bello released her breasts to the world in this film!! (Who's she? She's the original coyote from Coyote Ugly!)

All in all, I would say this was an entertaining movie, every thing that came up fell into place. It's a Drama with a little comedy. I liked the way the movie ended. It summed things up nicely.

Collateral

Ahhh... What an interesting movie! Collateral is very different from your conventional Action/Thriller flick... I don't even know if it would classify as a thriller... maybe more of an Action/Drama type of thing. It didn't hold me to the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen, but it didn't bore me either, yet, I would recommend that you watch it for yourself and see!

What I found interesting is that even though Jamie Foxx and Jada Smith were both in this flick, they didn't have many music from either of the two. You'd think they would include a song from their repertoire, but nup. (Yes... Jada Smith sings as well as acts. She too has moved from the acting scene into the music scene...)

The main thing about this flick was that it wasn't like every other conventional flick out there. The way it was filmed reminds you of a home video with everything happening right there and then. You can feel the anxiety, the impatience and the determination of all the characters. It was like watching an instant replay of real events rather than a made up story. Almost as if the story was being re-told only without the narration.

Tom Cruise's performance was amazing. As usual, he doesn't let you down. It was weird seeing him with grey hair and dyed eye brows. It looked a little weird, but after you blend it with the grey suit he was sporting throughout the movie, and his role as an assassin... it fit the part nicely. You wouldn't want a "fresh" assassin... young... dark hair... lack of experience... you want a pro. And his image fits the profile nicely.

I also liked how the characters developed. You see how desperation changes one's actions. You also see how professionals will pursue their goals, regardless of how difficult the situation turns out. And you can relate to some of the choices the characters make. If I was in Jamie Foxx's situation, I think I would have sent the Taxi to it's final destination in the same way (weird, I don't think I saw an airbag go off...)

I say, you should learn the definition of Collateral before you watch this flick. It puts things in perspective when you watch it.

For those of you who don't know...

Collateral - Assets pledged as security for a loan. In the event that a borrower defaults on the terms of a loan, the collateral may be sold, with the proceeds used to satisfy any remaining obligations. High-quality collateral reduces risk to the lender and results in a lower rate of interest on the loan.

The only thing that really annoyed me with the film, were some of the scenes in the beginning where the zoom were so up close and personal, that it blurred things out. I understand it was an effect to keep the "hand held" camera view... but when you're zooming in on someone's license or taxi registration, you'd at least leave it long enough so you can properly see the name on it.

I can't say I liked the ending all that much... it was alright, but I dunno... the movie itself didn't feel as if it had a major climax to it and at the end, I was still waiting for one... It had a few minor climaxtic scenes but I dunno... maybe I'm just not used to drama flicks...

(Oh as always... you can sooo tell what companies movies are sponsored by. This flick only used Motorola mobile phones... not that I specifically took notice... just kinda have an eye for these things... I wonder why... actually... too hungry to wonder... brain just switched off... I think I'll go make something to eat. hehehehe)

(Brain: Food goes in here... (pointing to the mouth)... Nyum: It sure does!)

Shark Tale

Now that was fun!! Watched Shark Tale this evening with a few good friends and it was happy time all the way! What a nice way to end a week (well technically end a week seeing as it's Friday... but I'm due back at work in about 4hrs so... D'oh!!)

I tell ya, it never ceases to amaze me how they can animate animals to look so much like the actors/actresses. And it's the little things they do that remind you of them.

Shark Tale was excellent. I don't want to give too much away cause you really have to watch it. For those who haven't seen the trailers and stuff... it's about (wait... did you avoid the trailers? if so... don't read the rest of this paragraph!) ... a little fish called Oscar (voice actor played by Will Smith) who was in the right place at the right time, and ended up being known to the rest of the reef as The Shark Slayer. (yeah, it's exactly as you see it... he claimed the death of a shark as his own kill....) Anyway, he gets famous... and all sorts of things happen. I can't really say more without spoiling it too much so go and make a day of it! If you're in need of a laugh, it's a good watch!!

I also scored the soundtrack to the movie! It's quite retro, but very hip!!

Harold & Kumar go to White Castle

What a movie!! It was from the directors of Dude, where's my car, and I tell ya, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle is much better! John Cho and Kal Penn are heaps funny. It was excellent to see casts from their previous movies make cameo appearances.

The movie is about an adventure that takes place as Harold and Kumar decide to get the ultimate food to eat, White Castle sliders. (For those who don't know, White Castle is actually a franchise in the US and their sliders are burgers the size of ... 2-3 decks of cards stacked on top of each other... ) Harold is very geeky. He doesn't stand up for himself and usually just takes everything. Where as Kumar just doesn't give a damn about anything and generally smokes weed all day, despite the fact that he has a perfect MCAT score...

Anyway, without going into too much detail... (because you really have to watch this movie!!) they find themselves trapped in all these unusual situations. Some of which would have you wonder... would you do it? Where as others will go... "It only happens in the movies!!!". You should definitely go watch this movie if you're in need for a laugh!!! So many cliches and stereotypes... but all sooo true!!

John Cho actually co-stars in his own sitcom called Off Centre. It's actually quite funny. Too bad the series got cancelled. I don't think too many people watched it. It was on very late night here in Australia... Usually on channel 9 at like 3am in the morning. His co-star was actually Sh1t Break from American Pie (who also makes a cameo appearance in the movie). As for Kal Penn, well, we all remember him as the geek in Van Wilder - Party Liason.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Well, there, I've done it. I've watched yet another movie from his series. It's weird watching a Jim Carey flick where he's actually not funny. I don't think I'll ever get the hang of it... But I liked this movie. This wasn't as challenging to follow as his other movies, but it was still very interesting.

It's about a guy played by Jim Carey, who fell in love with the character played by Kate Winslet.

It starts off with them meeting as complete strangers and getting really acquainted, and all of the sudden, it goes to seeing Jim in a car and the opening sequence/credits start. Then it goes into the nitty gritty of their relationship with lovey/dovey scenes of people walking on the beach etc...

Now, their relationship kinda go rocky and Kate couldn't take it anymore so she decided to completely wipe him from her memory. Interesting concept huh? You don't like someone so you go and erase them completely.

So she goes and does that and when Jim finds out, naturally he gets pissed off. So he goes and does the same thing...

Read on if you want it spoilt!

As he's getting his memory erased, you kinda work out that, the beginning is actually AFTER the memory erasure... so they kinda met again after they chose to wipe each other out of their memories.

What's evil is that the person that helped with the erasure, ended up stealing Jim's life and started to date Kate... it's really bizarre, but I tell ya, it's worth the watch!!

Adaptation

Okay, I just sat through Adaptation and man, that was rather intense... I need a brain dead movie now after watching this and Donnie Darko... I don't want to be thinking so much!

Basically, it's a guy called Charlie Kaufman who writes the way he lives, and then there's his Twin Brother Donald who Lives the way he writes... And then there's an author called Susan who writes about life... but can't live it. And the person she writes about, John, has his life as a book... Waiting to be adapted. So confusing!!! (Funny enough, the actualy screen writer of this movie is called Charlie Kaufman... )

If you want it spoiled, keep reading...

So there he is, trying to adapt a non-fiction book into a movie, and as the movie progresses, you realise that the script he is writing IS the movie you are watching... but it gets weird. Half way through it, it no longer is his story... it becomes his brother's story. You notice it when you realise that the first half has everything Charlie likes and wants... and the second half of the movie is what Donald talks about... the sex, the drugs the chases...

Very clever movie!! I'm tempted to watch Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind now... but I don't know if I can handle 3 brainy movies... I need a comedy or an action flick... we were going to watch 2 Days from Now... (commonly known as The Day After Tomorrow...) but they all want to watch Eternal Sunshine... I don't think I can handle it.

I only started to get into these films after watching Being John Malkovich... I liked that... super weird, but pretty good!!

The Primary Universe is fraught with great peril. War, plague, famine and natural disaster are common. Death comes to us all.

The Fourth Dimension of Time is a stable construct, though it is not impenetrable. Incidents when the fabric of the fourth dimension becomes corrupted are incredibly rare.

If a Tangent Universe occurs, it will be highly unstable, sustaining itself for no longer than several weeks. Eventually it will collapse upon itself, forming a black hole within the Primary Universe capable of destroying all existence.

Water and Metal
Water and Metal are the elements of Time Travel.

Water is the barrier element for the construction of Time Portals used as gateways between Universes at the Tangent Vortex.
Metal is the transitional element for the construction of Artifact Vessels.

The Artifact and the Living
When a Tangent Universe occurs, those living nearest to the Vortex will find themselves at the epicenter of a dangerous new world.

Artifacts provide the first sign that a Tangent Universe has occured. If an Artifact occurs, the Living will retrieve it with great interest and curiosity. Artifacts are formed from metal, such as an Arrowhead from an Ancient Mayan civilization, or a Metal Sword from Medieval Europe.

Artifacts returned to the Primary Universe are often linked to religious iconography, as their appearance on Earth seems to defy logical explanation.

Divine intervention is deemed the only logical conclusion for the appearance of the Artifact.

The Living Receiver
The Living Receiver is chosen to guide the Artifact into position for its journey back to the Primary Universe.
No one knows how or why a Receiver will be chosen.

The Living Receiver is often blessed with Fourth Dimensional Powers. These include increased strength, telekinesis, mind control, and the ability to conjure fire and water.

The Living Receiver is often tormented by terrifying dreams, visions and auditory hallucinations during his time within the Tangent Universe.

Those surrounding the Living Receiver, known as the Manipulated, will fear him and try to destroy him.

The Manipulated Living
The Manipulated Living are often the close friends and neighbours of the Living Receiver.

They are prone to irrational, bizarre, and often violent behaviour. This is the unfortunate result of their task, which is to assist the Living Receiver in returning the Artifact to the Primary Universe.

The Manipulated Living will do anything to save themselves from Oblivion.

The Manipulated Dead
The Manipulated Dead are more powerful than the Living Receiver. If a person dies within the Tangent Dimension, they are able to contact the Living Receiver through the Fourth Dimensional Construct.

The Fourth Dimensional Construct is made of Water.

The Manipulated Dead will manipulate the Living Receiver using the Fourth Dimensional Construct

The Manipulated Dead will often set an Ensurance Trap for the Living Receiver to ensure the Artifact is returned safely to the Primary Universe.

If the Ensurance Trap is successful, the Living Receiver is left with no choice but to use his Fourth Dimensional Powers to send the Artifact back in time into the Primary Universe before the Black Hole collapses upon itself.

Dreams
When the Manipulated awaken from their journey into the Tangent Universe, they are often haunted by the experience in their dreams.

Many of them will not remember.

Those who do remember the Journey are often overcome with profound remorse for the regretful actions buried within their Dreams, the only physical evidence buried within the Artifact itself, all that remains from the lost world.

Ancient myth tells us the Mayan Warrior killed by an Arrowhead that had fallen from a cliff, where there was no Army, no enemy to be found.

We are told of the Medieval Knight mysteriously impaled by the sword he had not yet built.
We are told that these things occur for a reason.

Warning for the gullible: The above is a work of pure fiction, probably written by Richard Kelly or his staff, as an additional explanation for the plot of the movie. It can be found on the Donnie Darko DVD or the official Web site. Roberta Sparrow has never existed, and there is no book titled The Philosophy of Time Travel out there.

Well, do you understand it better now?? That's pretty much explained everything. You still can't be holding questions right??? But if you are, feel free to leave a comment!!! And if you STILL don't get it... just remember... it's all fiction!! Anything goes! ;p

Garfield

Initially, after watching the trailers, I thought that the movie was going to be crap, mainly because Garfield could talk... but that wasn't the case at all! Sure, he had a voice actor (the funny Bill Murray), but it wasn't as if the humans could understand him anyway. It was quite funny.

However, it was pretty weird that he was the only animated cat... Jon wasn't anything like the comic strips!! He was much younger and didn't dress so dorky!! I was expecting at least a checkered shirt or something weird like in the comic strips. That was rather disappointing.

Nermal was disappointing too, he was soooo not the cutest kitten in the world!! That's right... HE. Who would have thought that Nermal was male!!! I had always just assumed it was female...

Jennifer Love Hewitt was pretty damn fine as well. I think I still like her with long hair rather than short... She still looks as youthful as ever... it's probably from all those Neutrogena products ;p

The story was well done. I don't remember how Odie came into the family from the comic strips. I should really read them all again... but I think he was a character from the start, so the movie took another angle into the life of Garfield.

Flawless

What can I say... I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it all that much either. At one point it just felt like a normal TV show with a whole bunch of C grade actors mixed in with 2 big names. For a drama, it was okay. I guess I rarely watch drama flicks to truly appreciate the art, but it was interesting none the less. De Niro does pull a strange face throughout the movie... or is that him naturally... hmmm

De Niro plays a retired security officer who suffers a stroke and is forced to learn to live life with limited mobility. The building in which he lives in, houses a drag queen played by Philip Seymour Hoffman, who performs as a cabaret singer/dancer. Due to De Niro's stroke, they are forced to seek help from each other in many different ways. I guess you'll have to watch to find out what happens... but it's a drama nonetheless. Definitely not a comedy nor was it "hilarious" as indicated on the blurb on the DVD...

A Guy Thing

I have to say, this was a silly movie. Sure, it was entertaining, but the story was rather weak, and it was very predictable.

Julia Stiles is one of my favourite actresses. Maybe it's because I just like her whittiness. I liked her character in this movie. It did annoy me a little with how she was able to just get a job so damn easily. As if that would happen in real life!!

Some things were a little too unbelievable, and like, close to the end, you just could not believe how blind Jason Lee's character was. I mean, surely by now you could have seen it coming!! (You'll know what I mean when you watch it.)

I have to admit, it definitely was highly humourous, but it was the stupid funny thing instead of funny funny. Watch it if you want a no brainer.

Ice Age

I didn't like it. The characters weren't that interesting, the animation wasn't all that good and everything looked really plastic. It felt like I was watching Transformers Beast Wars at one point.

The motion of the characters weren't fluid either. Some of the scenes looked as if the physics of the animal's movement was all wrong. Sure it's an animation, but it should at least still be made more realistic with motion if you couldn't do it with animation.

The story line itself was poor. It's one of those stories where you go "AS IF"... I just didn't like it. It just didn't have the edge. I didn't think the voices suited some of the characters either.

I have to admit, there were "some" funny parts, but even then, it wasn't all THAT funny. The high motion scene through the inner mountain was okay. But even then, a lot of motion wasn't added to the character's hair or fur to make it seem more fluid. I guess for the time it was made, that's probably the best they could do. But I'm sure Disney-Pixar did a lot better with their other projects that came out prior to this.

10 Things I Hate About You

Hahahaha. This movie was funny. Yes, it's a teeny bopper movie, but it was pretty entertaining.

The music was good and the story line wasn't too bad either. I have to admit, that's one twisted Principal they have in the school. I don't think there's anyone like it here... well... that I've met anyway.

I like the father figure in this movie. The dude's a crack up!! Everything was so stereotypical... it was fantastic!! They all played their roles superbly! I say watch it for laughs. Some of the outakes during the credits are damned funny!
